Maple Ridge

One of the oldest municipalities in British Columbia, Maple Ridge has a long history with a fresh and youthful appeal, having only become an official city in 2014. The change in status reflects the area’s recent and ongoing growth, supported by agritourism, farmers markets, artisan vendors, and more.

The natural beauty of the area—a mix of mountains and hills, forested hiking trails, and local streams and rivers—make it a dream spot for nature enthusiasts, outdoor adventurers, and those looking for picturesque views and wildlife encounters without having to leave the city. Linked to Langley on the south via the Golden Ears Bridge (which opened in 2009), Maple Ridge has become more connected than ever to other cities and municipalities. The city is also home to one of eight WestCoast Express stops—a commuter rail train connecting various suburbs and municipalities with downtown Vancouver.
